Robert,

If you have something of value and people want it then they're happy to pay you for it. You have to get over a fear of selling. Of course you deserve to get paid for your information if it helps the reader. You wouldn't expect to go to Barnes and Noble and get books for free because the store was afraid you'd think they were in it for the money, would you?

Well you need to think the same way. That said, you need to be sure there is a need in your niche, otherwise you'll have difficulty selling your e-book no matter how good it is.

Hope this helps,
Janis

Janis,

Nice to see something professional on the web from a "neighbor"(?)...

I'm thinking about trying to earn a few $$ through the Internet and just recently put up my own blog @ blogger.com.

I've thought long and hard about what niche I could go into and came up with an idea (one of my passions) to post entries on my blog briefly touching on the particulars - but at the same time put together an ebook for later release that refines the details.

My question to you is how should I promote the site and ebook so that I don't sound like I'm just in it for the money?

It's difficult these days - with the economy and all - to not show $$ concerns in just about every sentence.

I've had journalism experience and training through the Army, a two year degree in Computer Systems Technology and a course in Website Design... Although all of these took place several years ago, I'm getting more and more driven to get something going on the Internet and I need some more A-B-C, 1, 2, 3 info in order to feel confident at what I'm doing.

I realize my chosen "niche" isn't one of the most sought after topics - but, we never know how things will wind up, do we?

Anyway, if you could take a look at my blog and offer up some design/product ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it...

Thanks loads,

Robert

Its true, e-books are an excellent way to generate traffic to web sites and to make money online, and as was shown above, there are many ways that you can use e-books to do different things in your business.

I am an e-book author, and I love writing e-books. I find them quite easy to produce because you aren't using typewriters and paper to produce them. You're using bits and bytes, which in my opinion, is much easier to deal with than paper.

Just about anyone can produce a quality e-book on any particular subject. A matter of factt, there are e-books on just about any subject you can possibly think of. There's always room for more information on those diverse topics because everyone has their own twist on things, and that's what makes e-books so interestting to read.

As far as your business goes, e-books are an excellent tool that you can use to get people more familiar with you and your business because you can use the e-book to further describe the business and what it has to offer, plus you can use e-books to promote products and services that you are offering as well.

Basically all you need to create an e-book is a topic, and some software, such as notepad for Windows, or Microsoft Word, and an e-book compiler program which will take your material and either turn it into a stand-alone executable file, or software that will take your text and convert it into the popular PDF file format.

Most e-books today are in PDF format because the PDF file format is so much easier to deal with, but if you need to provide a web experience inside your e-books, then you will need to compile them into a stand-alone executable file. However, in order to compile your book into an executable file, the book must be written much like a web site which is done in HTML.

There are pros and cons of both the executable and the PDF file formats, but only you can really decide which of these is best for what you're doing. Nobody can make that decision for you.

I have two products that I strongly recommend you to check out. One of them is called Tips Tools and Tactics To Have Your Own Info Product, and that can be found at the following here below.

<a href="http://www.profitfromyourwebsite.com/proventips"Tips Tools and Tactics To Have Your Owwn Info Product</a>

The other product is called the Internet Marketing Speed Guide Series, and it gives you a basic walkthrough on starting an online business, and it can be found at the following here below.

<a href="http://www.teachmeinfomarketing.com/speedguide" rel="nofollow">Internet Marketing Speed Guide Series</a>

Both of these products are fine products for you to check out because they'll give you a jumpstart on your business and e-book production. I own both of these products and I am selling both of them, so I should know. I also use what's inside them for my own business as well.

I give the author of this blog credit for what they have presented because I personally find the material on this blog professionally written and consistent. Thanks so much for what you have offered to those who come here and read.
